
Agriculture and Environment Magazine launches “Green pagoda” program in Lao Cai
01/08/2025TN&MTOn July 26, 2025, the Agriculture and Environment Magazine, in collaboration with the International Women Entrepreneurs Development Institute (IWEDI), organized the “Green pagoda” tree planting program at Truc Lam Thien Phu Pagoda, Trung Tam ward, Lao Cai province. A total of 333 new trees were planted as part of the initiative.
Held in the peaceful and spiritual surroundings of Truc Lam Thien Phu Pagoda, the launch ceremony carried a strong message of compassion and environmental responsibility. The initiative responds to the Prime Minister’s call to plant one billion trees nationwide. It also marks a meaningful step in integrating Buddhist values with environmental stewardship—nurturing both spiritual ecosystems and the cultural heritage of Vietnam.
The tree species planted include 100 ginger Re trees, 30 goji berry trees, 90 mango trees, 60 jackfruit trees, 32 lychee trees, 20 sapodilla trees, and one mature mango tree (3 meters high), contributed by the Agriculture and Environment Magazine. IWEDI also planted one Diospyros decandra (Thi) tree.
