
Agriculture and Environment Magazine honors families of wounded and fallen soldiers in Lao Cai
06/08/2025TN&MTOn the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), Vietnam’s national day of remembrance for wounded veterans and fallen soldiers, the Agriculture and Environment Magazine joined hands with the International Women Entrepreneurs Development Research Institute (IWEDI) to honor families of wounded and fallen servicemen through a community outreach event held in Lao Cai province.
Held on the morning of July 26, 2025, in Trung Tam Ward and Van Chan Commune, Lao Cai, the program was part of national efforts to commemorate War Invalids and Martyrs Day, a solemn occasion to pay tribute to those who have sacrificed for the nation. The event took place at the Trung Tam Ward Party Committee headquarters, with the participation of representatives from the Agriculture and Environment Magazine, IWEDI, local authorities, sponsors such as Nhat Lieu Health Care Center (Hai Phong Medical Hospital), Asahi Travel Vietnam, and Hoang Hai Forever Trading Company, and over 50 families of wounded veterans and fallen soldiers.
During the ceremony, the organizing committee presented 100 gift packages, including 500,000 VND in cash, a blanket, and other essential items, to policy beneficiary families. Special visits were also made to the homes of Mrs. Cao Thi Viem, widow of martyr Nguyen Van Phoi, and Mr. Luu Thanh Liem, a war veteran with a 21% disability.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Dao Trung Hieu, Standing Vice President of IWEDI, emphasized the enduring Vietnamese tradition of honoring those who came before, “When drinking water, remember the source.” He reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to accompanying future social responsibility efforts for families with meritorious service

The Lao Cai Association in Hanoi contributed a symbolic donation of 20 million VND to support local policy beneficiary families
The program concluded in a spirit of warmth, respect, and solidarity between the local community and those who have sacrificed for the nation
The organizing committee paid a visit to the family of Ms. Cao Thi Viem, widow of fallen soldier Nguyen Van Phoi, to offer support and deliver gifts at their home in Trung Tam Ward, Lao Cai province
They also visited and presented gifts to Mr. Luu Thanh Liem, a wounded veteran with a 21% disability, in recognition of his service
