Launching the Agricultural Tourism Magazine to promote sustainable rural tourism

23/11/2025

TN&MTOn November 21 in Suoi Giang, Lao Cai province, the Agricultural and Environmental Magazine introduced its new publication, the Agricultural Tourism Magazine. The bilingual edition aims to honor local cultural identity, spotlight sustainable tourism models, and serve as a bridge connecting regional agricultural products with domestic and international travelers.

Speaking at the launch, Editor-in-Chief Dao Xuan Hung emphasized that Agricultural Tourism is more than just the title of a magazine, it is “a vibrant map of discovery,” guiding readers to places where people, nature, and agricultural heritage converge to create distinctive tourism experiences. He noted that the publication marks an important milestone for the Agricultural and Environmental Magazine, reflecting its commitment to promoting the values of Vietnamese agriculture to audiences at home and abroad.

During the event, the magazine presented 200 copies to the People’s Committee of Van Chan commune, Lao Cai province, as a contribution to the promotion of Suoi Giang, home to some of Vietnam’s oldest and most iconic tea trees. As agricultural tourism continues its rapid evolution in recent years, from simple sightseeing activities to a creative economic ecosystem, the launch of this publication responds to a clear mission: to celebrate local identity, disseminate sustainable tourism practices, and help regional agricultural goods reach a wider global audience.

A key feature of the new magazine is its Vietnamese–English bilingual format, a strategic choice that enhances accessibility for international readers, supports Vietnam’s tourism image abroad, and expands opportunities for cooperation, investment, and the development of professional, modern, and culturally rich agricultural tourism products.

The inaugural issue spotlights Lao Cai’s Shan Tuyet tea, a unique agricultural and cultural heritage of the Northwest. Through a series of articles, readers are taken to Suối Giàng, where ancient tea trees cling to misty mountainsides, producing a rare, pure flavor found nowhere else. Complementing the feature stories, reportage and photo essays vividly capture the atmosphere of the 2025 Shan Tuyết Tea Festival, celebrating the craftsmanship of local tea artisans and the communities that safeguard this precious heritage.

Beyond storytelling, the magazine also provides in-depth analysis of integrated production–processing–tourism models, where farmers become “storytellers” accompanying visitors and helping local specialty products, such as Shan Tuyet tea, reach international markets. This approach underscores how tourism can activate value chains, enhance product value through processing, packaging, communication, and strengthen local branding.
