During the ceremony, Ms. Carolyn Turk said that the WB and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) recently have had close cooperation in developing policies, specific programs and projects related to environmental protection and climate change adaptation.

With Vietnam's current goals of rapid and sustainable development, the role of the MONRE will be crucial not only in formulating policies but also addressing pressing issues such as saltwater intrusion, natural disasters, droughts, plastic pollution, deteriorating air quality, as well as ongoing efforts such as restoring polluted rivers, sustainable development of the Mekong Delta, carbon market establishment, greenhouse gas emission reduction, and more. Therefore, the WB commits to continuing to accompany the MONRE in achieving sustainable development goals.
