On August 26, during the 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly, with the majority of deputies in favor, the National Assembly passed a resolution approving the appointment of Mr. Do Duc Duy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee, and head of the Yen Bai delegation of the 15th National Assembly, as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment for the 2021-2026 term. The vote was unanimous, with 426 out of 426 deputies present in favor.

Mr. Do Duc Duy was born in 1970 in Thuy Van commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province. He holds a Master's degree in Construction and is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, a deputy of the 15th National Assembly, and head of the Yen Bai Delegation of the 15th National Assembly.

The new Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Do Duc Duy, began his career as a lecturer in the Faculty of Construction at Hanoi University of Architecture in February 1996.

More than six years later, in April 2002, Mr. Do Duc Duy was seconded to the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Construction, where he held various positions, including Deputy Director of the Personnel Department.

Subsequently, Mr. Do Duc Duy served as Chief of the Ministry Office of Construction for nearly three years before being appointed Deputy Minister of Construction in August 2015. In February 2017, he was transferred and assigned as Deputy Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee, and later elected Chairman of the Yen Bai People's Committee. From September 2020 until now, Mr. Do Duc Duy has served as Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee.
