The 2024 "The time to act is now" photo contest is open!

TN&MTGAHP invites individuals worldwide to participate in our photo contest, capturing their perspectives on environmental health issues. This contest, aligned with GAHP's mission to improve health by addressing pollution, encourages photographers to explore and express the impacts of environmental challenges and their innovative solutions. By fostering cultural exchange and understanding through visual arts, this initiative encourages people to advocate for a healthier, sustainable future, addressing global environmental and health challenges.

The 2024

I/ Overview

  • Theme: CHANGE. This theme invites photographers to showcase the moments where human actions intersect with environmental health. It encourages capturing both the negative effects of pollution and inspiring efforts towards sustainability. Through vivid imagery, participants can highlight the urgent need for action and the powerful changes driven by community, innovation, and policy.
  • Submission deadline: 20th August 2024 | 23:59 CEST
  • Who can participate:

- Anyone can join.

- Minors Participation: Minors must provide written consent from a legal guardian to participate. The consent should state: "I, [Full Name], the legal guardian of [Minor's Full Name], authorize their participation in the GAHP photography contest "The Time To Act Is Now" 2024. I have read and agree with the terms of the rules." Signed at [City] on [Date], [Signature].

- Minors without this written permission will not be accepted into the contest.

  • Prizes:

- GAHP will issue a certificate and announce the winners on the media.

- The best photos from the contest will appear in GAHP’s art gallery and may be showcased in exhibitions held worldwide.

II/ Submission: To confirm participation, follow these steps before 20th August 2024 | 23:59 CEST:

  • Visit https://forms.gle/3dAVvqXafVB5fwKv8
  • Upload UP to 10 photographs.
  • Include a caption for each photograph or series in JPEG or JPG format.
  • Ensure photo quality is at least 1,500 pixels wide for horizontal images or 1,500 pixels tall for vertical images.
  • Pictures must be taken by you and must be copyright-free. By submitting your picture, you give consent to GAHP to use them.

III/ Notes

  • Must have internet access.
  • Participation is individual; you cannot enter on behalf of someone else.
  • Agreeing to the contest rules is mandatory. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.

IV/ Submission guidelines

  • Photographs must embody the theme "CHANGE". Only minor edits such as dodging and burning, aperture adjustments, cropping, and colour balance are permitted. Any modifications must be detailed in the photograph's description.
  • Participants must be able to provide a high-resolution image suitable for printing on various media if selected for exhibition.
  • GAHP reserves the right to disqualify any photograph that fails to adhere to these guidelines.

V/ Intellectual property rights 

  • Participants affirm that they hold the copyright for all submitted photographs, which must be original works. They also possess the authority to permit their use.
  • Submitted photographs must not infringe upon any copyrights or third-party rights and should be free of unlawful content.
  • By submitting a photograph, participants consent to its use by GAHP for contest promotion on various platforms and media without compensation. Any commercial use will require further authorization.
  • GAHP will credit photographers for all uses. Participants indemnify GAHP against all claims related to their entries and grant GAHP the right to use their names and likenesses for contest-related purposes.
  • Photo credit should be labeled as: © Photographer's Name/GAHP.

VI/ Privacy 

  • Images must not include elements that infringe on privacy or image rights. If photographs feature individuals, participants are required to secure their consent.
  • Photographs must not contain defamatory, offensive, pornographic, racist, insulting, unlawful, or immoral content. Participants must ensure that their submissions adhere to these ethical standards to maintain the integrity of the contest.

VII/ Selection Criteria 

  • Photographs will be evaluated based on originality, creativity, photographic quality, and their relevance to the 2024 The Time To Act Is Now’s theme.
  • The Selection Committee will have the final authority to make decisions, and no appeals will be entertained.
