Vice Chairman Jung Heon Chul expressed his pleasure at being warmly welcomed by Minister Đang Quoc Khanh and the leaders of the MONRE. He shared that Abe Invest Vietnam, a wholly South Korean-invested company established in 2017 with headquarters in Hanoi, mainly operates in the fields of investment consulting, energy, environmental treatment, and shrimp farming. Recently, the company has achieved notable results in the field of wastewater treatment.

Currently, one of the company's products, which applies technology for wastewater treatment and surface water improvement, represents a new approach to water pollution treatment and requires evaluation from the specialized agencies of the MONRE.

During discussions with Abe Invest Group’s leadership, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh affirmed that addressing pollution caused by wastewater is currently a priority for the Government and the MONRE. The Water Resources Law of 2023 has provisions for the remediation of polluted rivers.

The Minister expressed his personal interest in learning from South Korea's experience and seeking its support in wastewater treatment and the restoration of polluted rivers. He highly appreciated and welcomed the investment and technology transfer from companies, especially those with widely used technologies in countries like South Korea, Japan, and China, as currently provided by Abe Invest.

Regarding the application of the company's wastewater treatment and surface water improvement technology, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh emphasized that this technology needs practical testing to verify its adaptability and suitability to Vietnam's conditions, considering several technical issues that need further clarification, as well as treatment costs.

Minister Dang Quoc Khanh suggested that the Pollution Control Department (PCD), The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the Department of Environment (DOE) should continue discussions with the company on issues related to the technology introduced, aiming for the most effective, cost-efficient, and compliant environmental pollution treatment technologies in Vietnam.

Minister Dang Quoc Khanh is confident that with the close relationship between Vietnam and South Korea, and the good coordination programs between the MONRE of Vietnam and the Ministry of Environment of South Korea, investment projects by South Korean enterprises in the field of environmental pollution treatment, with their financial, scientific, and technical resources, will achieve the best results, contributing to Vietnam's sustainable development.
